I've been pondering something I read this morning and your post nailed it down. "He lowers us into the depths to lift us to the heights of joy. The way up is the way down. There is no other way. We will not hear His song of love until we hear no other music".

Totally opposite of what the world tells us, but the TRUTH. I love you my sweet friend. God has done a marvelous things through your suffering. It even seems "not right" to say that but I know it to be true. I pray for your often.

Terri, I can 100% and more to identify with you. I had both sides removed due to breast cancer, in 1985 and in 2001. I once felt people would notice my loss(actually people could not remember which side then, and they dare not to ask anything), I even had emotional temper to want to buy a new shirt, very loose so that people won't notice. in 2001, i lost the other side, but i got a newer and deeper life in Him. It is worth the lose if we gain Him deeper and more. i felt your sadness this moment, but i thank the Lord for your talents in expressing your thoughts so well, and for your hunger desires in knowing Him, so want to be like Him. all the messages you wrote are very very strong and encouraging. i did not have a blog in 2001, i just wrote on the prayer request of trinity church and i did not keep the writings. but i remembered some people made some comments. i hope that i have those writings with me. it is the record of the journey with Jesus and His glory and faithfulness. do not be afraid. it will soon be over and you will be o.k. i like the picture of both of you. it is beautiful. praise Him for you both. this is just momentary. i know it because i had been there. love you. stay under His wings, alice

Terri,

Wow, the only word to describe God's love is "overwhelming" and the only way to describe what He is doing in your life is "amazing". He just continues to draw you closer into His embrace and show you the extent of His love. To the world, it doesn't look much like love but His love cannot be experienced from afar or truly be real without some pain.. I trust Him to continue to overwhelming you with His peace and love.......that has been our prayer for you and Rob!!

Great minds think alike. :) You not only exemplify this verse about inner beauty, you are still beautiful on the outside too. Our hearts groan in prayer for your family. The phrase from the words of Paul keep coming to mind………crushed but not abandoned. I have been meditating on Psalm 139 and this morning the Lord has prompted me to begin to pray verses 8-12 for you, Rob and Erin. The last part of verse 8 in particular….You……..lay your hand upon me……….. My commentary notes have a wonderful word picture for us, “it is a gentle gesture of reassurance”. Oh Lord will you lay your hand upon Rob, Terri and Erin to give them that gentle reassurance that you are there walking with them, love them more than they can imagine and that all is well. We will continue to wrestle in prayer for you. We love you.
Psalm 139:8-12 (ESV)
8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
9If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10even there your hand shall lead me,

Wow, what a powerful song and an amazing, indescribably powerful and beautiful God. No pain on earth is more powerful. Something the world (and sometimes we) can’t even conceive of but when we experience it, it is a taste of heaven on earth I think. I have been meditating on Psalm 73. (ESV)
"21When my soul was embittered, when I was pricked in heart, I was brutish and ignorant; I was like a beast toward you. 23Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
28But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge that I may tell of all your works."
Lord Jesus, help us to continually meditate on the truth of your Word. Help Terri (help us!) to know deep in her heart and in her experience that nothing she desires compares with You!!

You may never know how much you have encouraged us in our faith through this ordeal. Whether you feel it or not, your faith is strong and getting stronger! Sometimes calling out the name of Jesus is all the strength you have left but you keep calling. Run to Him and let Him hold you.
Proverbs 18:10 (NLT) The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.
